„The only way to say what abstract is, is to say what it is not.“

-Ad Reinhardt-

Benita Malciute is a contemporary painter based in Lithuania. She often works with acrylic paints in textured strokes. Interior design studies at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and a job as a graphic designer formed an approach to structures and composition. But she always wanted to express her emotions and convey an original approach to the environment. This helped shape visions of what she wanted to create herself, to capture beauty, imagination, and life.

With this in mind, Benita draws inspiration from the people around her, dreams, movies, and nature. She is interested in psychology and self-analysis, creating paintings showing fear, depression, anxiety, confidence, and inner peace. Artist doesn’t try to find beauty just in positive emotions. Painting is a space where she feels safe being a sensitive, introverted, and lyrical personality. She describes the energy which she sees in each subject and sheds light on abstract shapes and lines.
